Meditation In Times Square June 4th, 2016

The Sitting Project, in conjunction with Dharma Junkies www.dharmajunkies.com is doing a free public meditation, flash mob style in Times Square on Saturday June 4th from 1:00pm-1:35pm.

If you are wondering why meditation in public is awesome, in addition to often being a profound personal experience and a great way to promote awareness of mindfulness meditaiton, read this article about it:

Times Square, New York City, :
This sit will be held by the red steps in the middle of Times Sq for about 35 minutes. There will be an optional post sit gathering at a restaurant TBD.

All are invited to join and no experience necessary but we do recommend that you bring something to sit on (helps keep your posture comfortable). Our purpose in sitting is not to protest anything but simply to raise awareness and compassion in ourselves and to promote the practice of sitting meditation at large. People are free to join and leave the sits as their schedule allows.
